Title:Not to be trusted

This piece depicts a finger the finger is very close up and there is red blood dripping from the bottom of this piece. The most obvious element is the finger crossed. I used a  red values to make the blood color in the piece and look realistic. I used details in the hand  to move the viewer's eye around the piece.

This piece was created using pencil & shading. I used heavy pressure blends in the hand. I also used shading to add detailed lines in and a blending stump to add the  lines and details, especially in the cut part of the fingers.

My inspiration for this piece was for people can not be trusted.I thought it would be an great meaning to others have them look at the  piece as an example. My work is meant to show that others can't be trusted . I tried to explain that some can not be trusted.

My goal as an artist with this piece was to create realism and a details. Pastels are rather large on the ends and therefore hard to get into small area. I wanted to challenge myself to find a way to get those details with the pencil. I think I accomplished my goal by trying a variety of techniques and finally settling on the blending stumps to help get into the small areas. I feel my final piece is realistic.

Overall, this piece turned out as I imagined. It is realistic and looks like pencil shading which was my intent. This piece will influence my future works in trying unconventional tools to achieve the results I want like I did with the blending stumps. I will use this once an a blue moon in the future as well because I am happy with the end result.

Title: Clam Smooth Day

My piece depicts a clam & relief  . The water is blue the sky has yellow, orange ,an is  showing the sun rising. There are several grasses moving to the left. The most obvious element in the piece is color and the most obvious principle is movement. The grass  shadows of the grass move the viewer's eye around the piece.

I used a combination of techniques to get the desired result. I started by mapping out my piece and then using the wet on wet technique to create my wash and underpainting. After several layers of underpainting, I used the wet on dry technique to add details. I used flat brushes for the water and a variety of round brushes for the details.

My piece was inspired by clam an for peaceful and the calmness of slow-moving in the grass. I always find peace when the sun is going down an i love hearing the sound of water. I wanted to envoke a sense of calmness in the viewer.

My goal as an artist was to use watercolor in a realistic way. I wanted to create a sense of realism and the grass moving, water and grass. I think the techniques I learned helped me achieve my goal and create a realistic watercolor painting.

I learned a variety of techniques including, wet on wet, wet on dry, and how to build up values slowly using layers to create realism. The final piece is a little different than I imagined but I am really happy with the end result. I will use these techniques in future pieces I create. I think building up layers slowly is something I can use when creating with any media.

Title: Depression

This piece depicts the artist depression. He is very close up and there is an ocean behind him . The most obvious element is color. I used a variety of red an black for the human values to make the human in the piece and look realistic. The most obvious principle is movement. I used waves in the water and the blue an light blue an white for the water lines in the ocean to move the viewer's eye around the piece.

This piece was created using paint . I used a variety of techniques to create this piece realistically. I used heavy pressure blends in the human body an also in the background i blend the white and gray paint to make the clouds. I also used mixing coloring to make my waves look like there coming up i detailed lines in the waves .

My inspiration for this piece was my mind an feelings .I thought it would be mean full to have them look at the  piece as an example of people having feelings. My work is meant to show that people have feelings. I tried to invoke seeing vibes in those who viewed it.

My goal as an artist with this piece was to create realism and add fine lines and details. painting are rather large on the ends and therefore hard to get into small areas. I wanted to challenge myself to find a way to get those details with the painting. my goal by trying a variety of techniques and finally settling on the blending stumps to help get into the small areas. I feel my final piece is realistic.

Overall, this piece turned out as I imagined. It is realistic and looks like paint which was my intent.
